Gangtok
the capital of Sikkim, occupies the west side of a long ridge flanking
the Ranipul
River. the scenery is spectacular and there are excellent views of the
entire Kanchenjunga range from many points in the vicinity it is like
mini kathmandu. Gangtok is a true hill station resort holidaying
Bengalis-teh large number of sweet shops on the MG marg is a testament to
that. The influx peaks in the 10 day Durga puja holiday period in October
when bengalis descend en messes from the plains. All the main facilities
-hotels, cafes, bazaars bus stand post office, tourist information
center and the Foreighners' Registration office - are either on, or very
near the main Darjeeling Road Highway 31A).
Banks:
the State bank of India , and the State Bank of Sikkim at the junction
of the national highway and Paljor Stadium RD are very helpfully.
Tsuk-La
-Khang : It is place of worship for Buddhist. It is a beautiful
placed building with large scriptures of ultra hold images if Buddha. It
has fine wood carvings unfortunately it is only open to the visitors in
the Tibetan New year.
